New Additions!

Seems like we're adding things to our family all the time!  We got our new baby chicks today!  Hurray! We decided to get some chicks to raise for eggs and for meat.  We got both chickens and roosters.  Matt's already got a breeding program planned out in his head.  We are excited to add more animals to our little farm and become more self-sufficient.  We can't wait 'til we can start eating fresh eggs and bottling chicken.

We are all excited! We are keeping them in our laundry room for right now since it's been so cold out in the garage.  Every few minutes Hayzen goes to the door (trying to open it of course) and says "chickuck, bak bak bak."  He loves telling everyone what the animals say.   I even catch myself checking on them quite often.  They are so soft and cute!

Right from the beginning he was already telling them what to do.

He was bummed that he couldn't hold one. 

So, I let him pet one instead.
